About Charles Thompson

Based on the East Coast, Charles Thompson has more than 15 years of experience directing technology at schools like the Taft School and St. George’s School. During his five-year tenure at The Taft School, where he served as director of information technology, he developed multiple applications, including a campus sign-out, which recorded student activity entering and exiting campus. He also developed a package managing application and a club database application. Charles Thompson managed a team of seven information technology professionals at The Taft School and spearheaded numerous infrastructure changes including a newly implemented Network Access Control system, and server virtualization.

Charles Thompson spent almost a decade as director of technology at St. George’s School in Newport, Rhode Island, where he maintained responsibility for the technology department and six staff members. Among his accomplishments were starting a required tablet program, implementing a wireless network solution throughout the campus and helping faculty members incorporate technology into their curriculum. Thompson earned a BS in computer science from Tufts University and a MS in computer science from Brown University. He maintains memberships with the Connecticut Association of Independent Schools and National Black Data Processing Associates.
